KKK announces ‘victory parade’ for Trump in N Carolina

The Ku Klux Klan, which officially endorsed Donald Trump during his campaign for the US Presidential Elections, announced to hold a 'victory parade' in North Carolina to celebrate Trump's win in the elections.

The rally, announced by KKK's Pelham chapter of The Loyal White Knights, will be held on December 3, reports The News & Observer.

However, the KKK is yet to publicly announce a location or time for the rally.

The Republican Party nominee won North Carolina on his way to winning the presidency, defeating Clinton there by nearly 5 percentage points.

The group's website referred to the rally as a "Victory Klavalkade Klan Parade" and announced that "TRUMP = TRUMP'S RACE UNITED MY PEOPLE".

Earlier, a former Imperial Wizard of the KKK, David Duke, hailed Trump's election saying it was "one of the most exciting nights of my life", reports Yahoo News.

He also rejoiced in the fact that "our people" helped Trump keep Hillary Clinton out of the White House.

The KKK's official newspaper backed Trump during his election campaign. However, the president-elect was forced to distance himself from the hate group's support.

Last week, the Trump campaign issued a statement that the real estate moghul "denounces hate in any form".

In 1927, Donald Trump's father was arrested following a KKK riot in Queens which saw over a thousand white-robed Klansmen march through the Jamaica neighbourhood, reports Yahoo News.

Trump Senior was reportedly detained "on a charge of refusing to disperse from a parade when ordered to do so."
