Watch out New Zealand: Trump escapees flock to immigration website
New Zealand is about 8,000 miles from the US, but Americans are flocking there -- at least to the country's immigration website.
In the wake of the most fractious US presidential election in recent memory, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has been inundated with web visits from US-based Internet users with thousands registering their interest in its visa programs, reports Bloomberg.
Some 56,300 visits were recorded in the 24 hours to 9:00am (New Zealand time) Thursday (3:00pm in New York Wednesday), Bloomberg reported quoting INZ Marketing Manager Greg Forsythe.
That's more than 24 times the daily average of 2,300 visits.
