War should give way to peace in ME
The Palestine-Israel conflict has been going on for the last 66 years. Soon after the establishment of the State of Israel, the combined Arab armed forces attacked Israel. But Israel defeated all the Arab armies decidedly. 1956, 1967 and 1973 wars were won by Israel and more land was lost by the surrounding Arab countries.
The bottom line is, even the combined Arab forces, Hamas, Hizbullah and others could not defeat Israel. After 66 years of existence, Israel is a reality, a de facto country recognised by most of the countries including Egypt, Turkey and Jordan. The Jews have turned the table and become oppressors in many cases.
But how long will the Palestinians -- innocent civilians, women and children -- keep on suffering and getting killed? The sufferings seem to be endless.
Both the parties have fought enough. It is high time both the principal stake holders -- Palestinians and Israelis agreed for a peaceful, honourable and pragmatic solution to the problem. Peaceful political solution is the only way out. The money which is being used for waging war can be profitably utilised for development of infrastructure, education, health care and other welfare sectors.
