WASTING POTENTIAL
Study. Because an A* is better than an A. Because GPA 4.0 is achievable.
Study hard. Because the bags under your eyes are not yet as heavy as one you fill with books for school. Because you lose sleep thinking about past lovers when you should be counting sheep in ascending order using the nth term formula, without a calculator, just for practice. Do it because you are a lab rat running around in a maze and education tastes so much better than cheese. Do it because the crushing weight you feel on your shoulders is only due to atmospheric pressure, and you only get those headaches from all the silly storybooks you read, never the schoolbooks.
Study harder. Because a sentence cannot begin with a conjunction and you should know that by now. Because the forces acting up on you are not just parental and gravitational but also exponential. Because even Physics says you're wasting potential. Do it because your parents think you somehow can't be a poet or a painter but you can be a doctor or a doctor.
Study. Study. Study. Because people die of meningitis and cerebral hematoma every day, never of studying too hard. And maybe if you study hard enough, you can learn to cure such horrible diseases. Don't worry about the anxiety, stress, fear of disappointing others and depression that will slowly kill you while you do so, that's just selfish.
