We should've cruised past SA: Borren
Netherlands captain Peter Borren has said that he was disappointed with his side's middle order and believed they should have 'cruised' past South Africa in Chittagong yesterday.
"We should have won the game completely. 145 was always a manageable chase and we should have cruised to it. Maybe the pressure got to us a bit. The dismissals of myself, [Wesley] Baressi, and Tom [Cooper] … we played across the line to [Imran] Tahir, which was pretty criminal," said Borren after the match.
"In a way we showed character, coming back from where we were a few days ago. But I don't think we played near to a hundred per cent. Just wish the last ten overs were different," he rued.
South Africa leg-spinner Tahir, who took four crucial scalps in the game, credited an all-round 'team effort' behind the win.
"Look I had belief that we could win this game. There were stages when we thought that no the game was off… maybe for a second I thought… but somewhere I knew that we were going to do it. It was a great team effort," said Tahir.
