Will the comment influence politicians?

TDS editor Mahfuz Anam's commentary 'A picture and a train' (Nov. 29) showed how frustrated the respected editor has become by the current political turmoil. Nevertheless, I can't help but ponder whether this kind of message would be an eye-opener to those it should concern. Sadly, if international pressure couldn't bring any changes, then what is the guarantee that our efforts in the form of opinions, commentary, etc., wouldn't go in vain?
