14 chargesheeted in cops murder case

The Officer-in-Charge of Fakirhat police station Nikhil Candra Mondal submitted the charge sheet to a magistrate court here.

Miscreants shot dead on-duty policemen Shah Alam and Abul Kalam at Fakirhat bus stand on April 27 and looted two firearms.

The 14 accused are Wahi-duzzaman, Bahauzzaman, BDR Altaf, Haroon, Shahadat alias Farhad, Hafiz, Zakir, Rezaul, Biri Masood, Islmail, Aslam, Manik, Shimu and Ali Hossain.

Police sources said, out of the 14 accused, 10 are residents of Khulna and Rupsha areas.

The sources said Biri Masood, Ismail and Manik are in jail and the rest are absconding. All the three in jail have gave confessional statements.
