Rally hailing Osman's entry, Delwar's exit

The speakers at the rally said Khaleda Zia has taken a "good and proper decision" by replacing Chief Whip Khondoker Delwar Hossain with Dr Osman Faruque.

The procession started from the BNP district office at about noon and terminated in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office, where the rally was held.

Former Manikganj district JCD president Tojammel Haque spoke as chief guest at the rally, presided over by incumbent president Golam Abden Kayser.

It was also addressed by, among others, JCD General Secretary Showkat Zahangir Rana, Senior Vice- president Shamshul Haque, Joint Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Prince, Organising Secretary Obaidur Rahman, Assistant Secretary Saiful Islam. JCD's Manikganj College unit president and party leaders from different upazilas also addressed the rally.

They also congratulated Khaleda Zia's son and BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Tareq Rahan for the decision.

Khondoker Delwar Hossain is a lawmaker from Manikganj-2 constituency.

He has been made min-in-charge for Rajbari district.
