173 posts of teacher vacant in Sylhet govt colleges
As many as 173 posts are vacant in these institutions. The figure includes 120 posts of lecturer, 42 of assistant professor and 11 of associate professor.
Shortage of teachers is the main cause poor results of the colleges in the last HSC and Degree examinations, an official at the Sylhet Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) said.
According to official sources, 16 posts of lecturer, four of assistant professor and three of associate professor are vacant in Habiganj Brindaban Government College. Four posts of lecturer are vacant in Habiganj Government Mohila College.
The number is 12 in Chunarughat Government College, three in Moulvibazar Government Mohila College, 15 in Moulvibazar Government College, 15 in Srimangal Government College, 19 in Sunamganj Government College, two in Sunamganj Government Mohila College, 13 in Sylhet Government Mohila College, eight in Sylhet Government College, nine in Jakiganj Government College, 12 in Beanibazar Government College. The vacant posts include those associate professor and assistant professor.
The Government Alia Madrassah has been running with a shortage of 23 posts of lecturer and 11 of assistant professor.
