12 bombs, 800 Phensidyl bottles recovered from BNP leader's house

Twelve powerful bombs and 800 bottles of Phensidyl were recovered from the house of a BNP leader at a Satkhira village.

Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) on Tuesday recovered the bombs and the Phensidyl bottles from the house of vice-president of Daulatpur upazila BNP unit Jahangir Hossain Jhalu at village Majdiar in Daulatpur upazila.

The recovered items included three search lights and other illegal goods.

Jhalu, also chairman of Maricha Union Parishad, was not at the house during the raid.

Two separate cases were filed with Daulatpur police.

Police disclosed that two BNP cadres were killed recently in a blast when they were allegedly making bombs at Jahlu's house.

Jhalu, an alleged smuggler is also an accused in at least seven criminal cases in Daulatpur police station.
