One college loses approval, notice on nine in Patauakhali
The Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Barisal has cancelled approval of Baniakathi College in Sadar upazila and has issued show-cause notices on nine others in the district for poor performance in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination this year.
The actions have been taken as per order from education ministry, sources at the district education office said yesterday.
The show-cause notices have been issued as their pass percentage is below 20 per cent.
The colleges are Moukaran BLP College (16.03 pass percentage), Janata College (11.76), LAM United Women College (16.71), Pangashia College (4.17), Mohammad Ishaq Model College (19.61), Rashid Talukder College (18.72), Botolbunia College (17.39), Ulania School and College (17.96) and Dhulia School and College (7.14).
If these institutions can not improve their performance, their monthly pay orders (MPOs) will be cancelled, the sources said.
