3 of a family killed in Sirajganj

The victims were identified as Shah Alam,34, his wife Sheuly Khatun,28, and their daughter Shapla Khatun,10. Police and witnesses said Noor Nabi, son of Ajahar Ali Khan of village Konabari grew illicit love with Sheuli Khatun and used to visit her house in absence of her husband Shah Alam.

When the villagers came to know the matter, they arranged a village arbitration where the local unioun parishad (UP) charman Saidul Islam gave the verdict and fined him Tk 15,000 and he also paid the money.

However, on the night of the arbitraion Noor Nabi entered the house of Shah Alam where he found all sleeping. He stabbed them and fled away from the spot. Sheuly Khatun and Shapla Khatun died on the spot.

Local people rescued Shaha Alam and son Rakib,7, and got them admitted to Sirajganj General Hospital where Shah Alam died on Friday morning. Rakib was undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Shah Alam's brother Rafiqul Islam lodged a murder case at Kamarkhand police station but none was arrested.
