Tk 2.50 cr Monu bridge work begins

The construction work of a new bridge over the Monu river at Akhnilkura village near Moulvibazar town has started recently.

The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Moulvibazar has undertaken the programme with an estimated cost of Tk 2 crore 50 lakh. The bridge will be 135-metre long and 24 feet wide.

Md Naser Rahman MP, laid the foundation stone of the bridge as the chief guest at a function held recently at Akhailkura village on the southern side of the proposed bridge.

Work on the bridge is expected to be completed by November, 2004, LGED sources said.
