5 get 17 years' RI for keeping illegal arms
Five persons have been sentenced to 17-year rigorous imprisonment here by a special tribunal for possessing illegal firearms.
Judge Mohammad Motahir Ali handed down the punishment on Sunday to Mahfuzul Haque alias Tiger, Gias Uddin Shimul, Shourav Hossain Kafil, Sarwar Jahan and Mohammad Manik.
Police arrested them from Kazirhat under Sonagazi upazila on December 5, 2000.
