Woman fights tiger, survives

Family sources said the critically injured woman --Fatema Khatun-- is now undergoing treatment at Satkhira Sadar Hospital.

Fatema Khatun, 35, wife of Kawsar Ali of Tengrakhali village under Shymnagar upazila, was seriously injured in head, chest, hands and back.

The sources said Fatema Khatun, mother of two children, went to the Krishna Canal under Koikhali forest range with three other fellows for catching fish fry after Sehri.

All on a sudden, a Royal Bengal Tiger attacked the four.

Fatema struggled with the tiger for half an hour as the three escaped the scene.

Later, the tiger abandoned the fight as three fisher men-Nesar Ali, Piar Ali and Munsur Ali- present in the area, joined her.

She was immediately taken to Shymnagar upazila health complex in a critical condition and later shifted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
