UP member shot dead

Abdul Wahab, 42, member of Shouna UP, was called out of his house by six persons on the plea of talks on payment of money earned from sale of shrimp, police said.

At one stage of the talks, one of them shot him, killing him on the spot.

The killing took place near a shrimp enclosure about two kilometres from his house.

The body was recovered from Nichu Khali shrimp enclosure on the same night. It was sent to his village home after autopsy in Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue.

None filed any case so far. Dumuria police however took into custody one Liton, 18, for questioning.
