Three accused in double murder given bail in Sylhet
During hearing of bail petition, First Class Magistrate Akram Hossain left the ejlash twice amid hot exchange of words between the defence and the prosecution lawyers.
The bails were granted on the first day of appearance of the accused in the court after three months of the double murder.
Nirendra Devnath, Dhirendra Devnath and Dipak Dey are accused in the double murder of Siraj Miah, 60 and his son Saiful Miah, 35, in the morning of September 13 last year. Nirendra Devnath is the main accused.
The two were shot dead and many others injured in an attack on Chatal village in Khadimnagar union under the Kotwali thana.
The prosecution lawyers had filed a 'Naraji' (objection) petition with the court against the bail prayer.
As the hearing began, lawyers of the two sides were locked in a hot exchange of words. The magistrate left the ejlash.
He returned after some time but the two lawyers again started exchanging words. He left again.
After some time, the magistrate returned to the ejlash and hurriedly ordered the bail for the three accused.
