One to die, 2 to suffer life term RI in Naogaon

District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Shawkat Ali delivered the judgement in a crowded courtroom here on Monday in presence of Pulok Chandra Bhowmik who was given capital punishment.

The court fined two other convicts Tk 20,000 each, in default, to suffer two years more RI.

Bulbul Islam, 35, son of late Dalim Hossain of village Sohasha under Badalgachi and Abu Sayeed, 35, son of Goheruddin of village Mostafapur under Dupchanchia upazila in Bogra were sentenced to life term RI.

Two life term convicts were awarded seven years more RI under a separate section of the case and also fined Tk 10,000 each, in default, to six months more RI.

Another convict Manjur Mandal, 35, son of Shariat Ullah Mandal of Patikanda village under Shibganj upazila of Bogra was sentenced to two years life term RI and fined Tk 2,000, in default, to suffer three months more RI in the same case.

Four others were acquitted of charges as allegations brought against them were not proved.
