Noakhali Mukto Ustab (Noakhali free day) was observed at Maijdi Court on Sunday through various programmes.

Freedom fighters freed Noakhali from Pakistani occupation forces on December 7, 1971 after a bloody battle.

Noakhali Cultural Forum arranged a day-long program on the occasion.

ASM Abdur Rob, who first hosted the Bangladesh flag at Maijdee Court in December 1971, inaugurated the programme which began with a colourful rally at the Mukto Square in the town in the morning.

The programme included reception to freedom fighters, cultural competitions for children, discussion meetings and cultural functions.
