Pneumonia kills 6 in Chapainawabganj

Pneumonia killed six people including three children and attacked over 200 in Chapai Nawabganj district in the last one month.

All the dead were in the Pourasabha area. They are Babu (3 days), Nahid (40 days), Asha (8 months), Fahim Reza (40 days), Nargis, 22 and Ramzan Ali, 30.

Sources at the civil surgeon's office said 120 children attacked with pneumonia were brought to the Sadar Hospital and upazila health complexes during the period.

The RMO at the Sadar Hospital said the number of pneumonia patients in the district is on the rise but their treatment at government hospitals is being hindered for want of oxygen cylinders.
