Big heroin haul in Gaibandha
The Gaibandha Narcotics and Liquor Control Directorate in a drive recovered one kilogram and 400 grams of heroin, 500 grams of hashish, some gold and money from a house in a village on Monday.
Police said a team of narcotics directorate officials, police and BDR led by a magistrate raided the house of alleged notorious smuggler Abdul Jobber at Roygram village under Palashbari upazila and recovered the heroin, hashish, two and half kilograms of chemicals, Tk. 54,370 and some gold.
They arrested two persons-- Raju Mia and Bablu Mia- during the raid. Abdul Jobber escaped sensing the raid, police said.
Two cases have been filed with Palshbari thana.
