63 pc free primary text books reach Barisal divn
Only 63 per cent of textbooks sought for free distribution among primary school students in six districts of Barisal division has so far reached here, sources in the Primary education Board said.
The total number is over 24 lakh 13 thousand out of 47 lakh 71 thousand sought.
Of the total, 7,74,321 are for Barisal district out of
12,24,863 sought; 4,23,000 for Patuakhali out of 8,10,700; 3,22,102 for Pirojpur out of 5,39,615; 4,87,775 for Bhola out of 13,28,600; 2,08,400 for Barguna out of 5,02,900 and 1,97,700 for Jhalakathi out of 3,64,415 sought.
Distribution of textbooks are going in full swing, they said.
Md. Nurul Amin, Assistant Deputy Director of Primary Education
said books on eight subjects including Mathematics for class one and two; Bangla of class two, three and five; Hindu Religion of class four and five and Social Studies for class three have not reached. He however said these will reach by January 15.
