'BNP, AL cannot protect interest of toiling masses'
Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) Convenor Comrade Khalequzzaman alleged this at a mammoth gathering of toiling people in Bogra on Monday. BSD organised the meeting in memory of popular leader Maolana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani.
Hundreds of farmers, workers and aboriginal people thronged the Shaheed Khokon Park of this northern industrial town from the remote areas of 16 districts.
The government did not take any initiative till now to save the distressed, Khalequzzaman told the meeting.
Khetmajur-o-Krisak Front Convener Shuvrangsa Chakrabarty presided over the meeting. BSD central leaders Mobinul Haider Chowdhury, Abdullah Sarker, Bazlur Rashid Feroj, Rajequzzaman Ratan, Ahsanul Habib Syeed, Zahedul Huq Milu, Haider Parvez and BSD district co-ordinator advocate Saiful Islam Paltu spoke. Mangal Kishku, and Bishodh Moni, while addressing on behalf of the aborigines alleged that they were being tortured in various ways.
Before start of the meeting an aborigine woman handed over a bow and arrow to Comrade Khalequzzaman.
