100 attacked with diarrhoea in B'baria
A total of 84 diarrhoea patients were treated at the Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital till filing of this report on Wednesday.
According to hospital sources, most of the patients are under five years of age. The patients' guardians alleged that the hospital authorities are not supplying Intravenous saline (IV) saline despite its supply by the government. As a result they are compelled to buy IV saline from medicine shops outside the hospital.
The diarrhoea ward of the hospital is also unclean, they alleged.
On contact, Dr ABM Ibrahim, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of the hospital told this correspondent about crisis of IV saline in the hospital because of its short supply from the Institute of Public Health (IPH). But there is enough supply of oral saline here, he said.
