Paharika Express derails at Kashba, 10 hurt

According to police and railway sources, the compartments derailed when the train was entering the station.

Chittagong-bound inter-city train Mohanagor Probhati from Dhaka was crossing the station at that time.

A relief train from Akawara junction rushed there and placed the five compartments on the track by 2 pm.

The Paharika was delayed but normal movement of trains through the station was not affected, the sources said.

The injured people were treated for cuts and bruises. None was admitted to hospital, Police Superintendent ATM Tarek who visited the spot immediately after the incident said.
