BNP Joint Secretary General Tarek Rahman said that his party would always stand by the distressed.

Tarek was addressing the cold-affected people in the district while distributing warm clothes among the distressed at Dimla, Domar and Sadar upazilas (Uzs) on Wednesday. He was on a four-day tour to the northern districts to see for himself the misery of cold-affected people.

During his address he criticised the role of opposition party saying when thousands of people suffer in severe cold, the opposition party, in stead of coming forward to help them, remains busy in making propaganda against the ruling party. He told that with limited resources we try to stand by the cold-stricken people. He pointed out that those who did politics with people's miseries went missing.

Tarek urged the affluent section of people irrespective of political affiliations to come forward with a helping hand towards the destitute.

BNP district President Shahrin Islam Tuhin, General Secretary Advocate Anisul Arefin Chowdhury, central committee member Alamgir Sarkar, Public Prosecutor Md Mohsin Ali were present during the warm clothes distribution ceremony.

Earlier, Tarek inaugurated Shahid Zia Road at Balapara union streching from Balapara to Domar.

At the inaugural function chairmen of Bala Para and Tepa Kharibari Union Parishads (UPs) in Dimla upazila Mosfiqur Rahman Lablu and Haider Ali Master joined the BNP along with all UP members and their supporters. They presented a golden key to Tarek Rahman.
