Steps to supply gas to Bogra in mid-2005
Under the project gas connection will be given for domestic purpose only in the town.
At least 2,000 domestic connections will be given within two years on the basis of a preliminary survey, sources in the Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL) told this correspondent.
The National Economic Council (NEC) approved the 60-kilometre Nolka-Bogra Gas Transmission Pipeline Project on June 8 last year at a cost of 124 cr.
GTCL sources further said Tk 55 cr has been released to establish the pipeline from Hatikumrul in Sirajganj to Selimpur in Bogra.
The pipeline work will start in June this year. The lying of pipeline work is expected to be finished by April or May 2005. The authorities already requested for acquisition of 148.18 acres of land beside Bogra-Dhaka highway.
