Pilferage of electric wire

Besides electric wire transformers, one 5 KVA from Haridaspur village in Gopalganj Sadar upazila and another 10 KVA transformer from Ratal village in Kotalipara upazila were also stolen.

Official sources said 21 transformers and 5,700 feet electric wire were stolen in December last year.

The General Manager of Gopalganj Polly Bidyut Samity (PBS), Tusher Kanti Debnath told this correspondent that they had been trying to stop such misdeeds by motivating villagers. He has apprehended that Gopalganj PBS might face huge financial loss due to this phenomenon.
