Tongi fair to make slum dwellers aware about rights
A five-day Tongi Puro Mela will begin on the Kaderia Textile Mill premises from today, says a press release.
Former Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh Hafiz Uddin will open the fair at 3 in the afternoon.
The fair is being organised jointly by CARE Bangladesh, Tongi Municipality, local non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and SOMIK, an organisation of slum dwellers.
The fair aims at making slum dwellers aware about their rights and various social issues and to establish linkage with local service providers.
