Rajshahi housewives want gas

Several hundred housewives agitated in the divisional city on Tuesday afternoon demanding gas supply to Rajshahi.

The Rajshahi Protection Movement Council (RPMC) organised a big procession of housewives. Following the procession a public meeting was organised at the Shaheb Bazaar Zero point with RPMC convener Zamat Khan in the chair.

Rajshahi Mohila Parishad leader Bulbuli Rani, Haripur union council member Sufia Begum, Weekly Duniya editor Sharmin Sultana, Farzana Afroze, Manjuara Khatun and many others addressed the meeting.

Speakers expressed their anguish over the government's decision to exclude Rajshahi city from the national gas network.

They demanded immediate gas supply to Rajshahi for ecological equilibrium.
