ONE Bank gets new DMD

ONE Bank has promoted Md Anwarul Islam to the post of deputy managing director (DMD) with effect from January 1 this year.

Prior to his promotion to DMD, Islam was concurrently serving the bank as a senior executive vice-president, chief legal officer and head of recovery division, said a press release.

He began his banking career at City Bank PLC as a management trainee in 2002.

He last served the City Bank as its head of court operations in the legal division.

Islam has extensive practical experience in banking operations, especially legal affairs and recovery, retail monitoring and special asset management.

He obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in law from the University of Rajshahi.
