Southeast Bank provides financial aid to Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University
Southeast Bank PLC recently provided financial support worth Tk 49.65 lakh to Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University for conducting research activities under its special corporate social responsibility (CSR) fund.
Nuruddin Md Sadeque Hossain, managing director of the bank, handed over the cheque for financial assistance to Prof Md Abdul Latif, vice-chancellor of the university, at a function at the bank's head office in Dhaka, according to a press release.
Prof Md Arfan Ali, department of horticulture and proctor of the university; Mirza Hasanuzzaman, department of agronomy and principal investigator of the project; and Anisur Rahman, department of agronomy and co-researcher of the project, were present.
Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, deputy managing director of the bank, and Md Musfiqur Rahman, vice-president and head of the CSR division, attended the event.
Southeast Bank had earlier provided similar financial assistance to Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh; Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur; Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chattogram; Sylhet Agricultural University; Habiganj Agricultural University; and Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University.
This financial assistance reflects Southeast Bank's ongoing commitment to supporting agricultural research and contributing to national agricultural development as part of its social responsibility initiatives.
