BERC raises LPG prices; 12kg cylinder now Tk 1,356
Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today announced an upward adjustment in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), setting the cost of a 12 kg cylinder at Tk 1,356, up from Tk 1,306.
“The newly fixed price of LPG is Taka 1,356, which will be effective at 6:00pm (February 2) and all licenses of LPG marketing companies will implement the price,” BERC Chairman Jalal Ahmed said today.
He explained that the adjustment was made in line with the monthly contract price set by Saudi Aramco, which determines global LPG rates at the beginning of each month of term contracts.
The commission also re‑fixed the price of auto gas at Tk 62.14 per litre for February, compared to Tk 59.80 in January and Tk 57.32 in December.
As per the BERC announcement, new price at retailer level owned by private sector, 12.5 kg LPG has been re-fixed at Taka 1,413, 15 kg at Taka 1,696, 16 kg at Taka 1,809, 18 kg at Taka 2,035, 20 kg at Taka 2,260, 22 kg at Taka 2,487, 25 kg at Taka 2,826, 30 kg at Taka 3,391, 33 kg at Taka 3,731, 35 kg at Taka 3,956 and 45 kg at Taka 5,087.
The per‑kilogram price of LPG at the reticulated stage has been set at Tk 109.29, inclusive of VAT, compared to Tk 105.08 in January and Tk 100.66 in December 2025, BERC said.
Additionally, the price of supplied LPG in private sector gas systems has been fixed at Tk 242.80 per cubic metre, up from Tk 233.50 in January and Tk 223.80 in December 2025.
