Biman sends engineers to Rome to fix grounded plane, two flights delayed
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has sent an engineering team and spare parts to Rome to fix a technical fault that has grounded one of its aircraft in Italy and delayed two international flights, according to the national carrier.
The aircraft, S2-AJY, operating on the Toronto-Rome-Dhaka route, was grounded at Rome Fiumicino Airport yesterday following a technical glitch. The flight, BG306, was on its way to Dhaka, said the state carrier.
Biman officials said the engineers and spare parts left on Flight BG305 today and are expected to arrive in Rome at 18:50 local time.
If repairs are completed as planned, flight BG306 is expected to depart Rome at 22:00 local time today and reach Dhaka at approximately 10:30 Bangladesh time tomorrow.
Earlier, the state carrier rescheduled its Dhaka-Rome-Toronto flight to 13:00 Bangladesh time today from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport as it uses the same aircraft.
