MTB signs deal with Runner Motors for API-driven cash management
Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) has signed an agreement with Runner Motors PLC, an automobile company and a business unit of Runner Group, to provide cash management services.
Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, additional managing director and chief business officer of MTB, and Nazrul Muhammad Islam, managing director of Runner Group, signed the agreement at the bank’s corporate head office in Gulshan-1, Dhaka, recently, according to a press release.
Under the agreement, Runner Motors PLC will use MTB’s integrated API-driven cash management services for nationwide distributor and sales collections.
The agreement also includes MTB’s payment solution, MTB eBank, to manage various payments and online collections through DDI.
Transaction approvals can be completed through biometric authentication on the MTB eBank App, which the bank says is the first such feature in the local banking industry. Syed Mahbubur Rahman, managing director and CEO of MTB, attended the signing ceremony.
Khalid Hossin, chief digital officer; Md Ashik Iqbal Khan, divisional head of cash management and transaction banking; Tahsin Taher, divisional head of retail segment and strategy; Md Rozar Ibna Azad, head of the group communication department; Rajesh Kumar Yadav, chief financial officer; and Ahmed Hossain, head of IT, along with other senior officials from both organisations, were also present at the event.
