Star Business Desk

NRBC Bank PLC yesterday launched a 40-day foundation training programme for its management trainee officers (MTOs) at its Human Resources Training & Development Centre in Dhaka.

A total of 40 MTOs are participating in the comprehensive training programme, which is designed to prepare the next generation of banking leaders. Md Touhidul Alam Khan, managing director and chief executive officer of the bank, inaugurated the training programme as the chief guest, according to a press release.

In his speech, Touhidul said professionalism, integrity and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances are essential for bankers in an evolving financial environment.

He advised the trainees to prioritise customers’ needs, continuously enhance their knowledge and apply what they learn through training in their day-to-day work.

He also said that for new banking professionals, knowing banking rules and regulations alone is not enough. Effective communication with customers, responsible conduct and the ability to make decisions in changing circumstances are equally important.

Fahmida Chowdhury, head of the training centre, presided over the programme.

Among others, Md Shaheen Howlader, deputy managing director and chief business officer of the bank, and Faisal Ahmed, chief human resources officer, were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
