Omar Tayub made AMD of Prime Bank

Prime Bank PLC has promoted Syed M Omar Tayub to additional managing director.

He is currently on deputation and will continue to serve as managing director and CEO of Prime Bank Investment PLC, according to a press release.

With more than 26 years of banking experience, Omar has expertise in investment banking, SME and consumer banking, branch banking and credit risk management. Before rejoining Prime Bank in 2020, he held several senior leadership positions.

He previously worked at Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, Prime Bank PLC, City Bank PLC, BRAC Bank PLC and Eastern Bank PLC.

Omar began his banking career with Standard Chartered Bank in 2000. He holds an EMBA from the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Dhaka and a master’s degree in physics from the University of Chittagong.

He is a Credit Skill Assessment-certified professional from Omega Performance, US, and holds an international mergers and acquisitions certification from the Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances.
