Shahjalal Islami Bank celebrates 25th anniversary
Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC yesterday celebrated its 25th founding anniversary with programmes held at its head office, corporate office, branches and sub-branches across the country.
Mohammed Younus, chairman of the bank, inaugurated the celebrations as the chief guest, according to a press release.
Speaking at the event, Younus said Shahjalal Islami Bank has played an important role in various sectors of the country, including agriculture, trade, industry, infrastructure and the broader economy, over the past 25 years.
“We are happy to be a proud partner in the sustainable development and prosperity of the country,” he said, adding that the bank has been sincerely serving customers since the beginning of its operations.
He also expressed the bank’s commitment to expanding modern banking services to people across the country.
On the occasion, the bank’s chairman launched 12 new SME investment products.
Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, managing director of the bank, presided over the programme and said Shahjalal Islami Bank has earned customer trust and credibility in the banking sector through its service quality and customer-focused initiatives.
“The bank’s position in overall indicators, including customer service, deposits, investments and credit ratings, is very satisfactory,” he said. He added that the bank has received recognition from various local and international organisations for banking excellence in recent years.
Among others, Mohiuddin Ahmed, vice-chairman of the bank; Md Sanaullah Shahid, Harun Miah, Akkas Uddin Mollah, Khandaker Shakib Ahmed, Md Towhidur Rahman, Fakir Maniruzzaman and Abdul Hakim, directors; and Md Reazul Karim, independent director, were also present.
