Electro Mart wins Asia Pacific Entrepreneur Award 2026 for sustainability

Electro Mart, the manufacturer of Konka, Gree and Haiko brand electronics and home appliances in Bangladesh, has received the Asia Pacific Entrepreneur Award 2026 in the category of Sustainability and ESG Excellence.

The award was presented at the Asia Pacific Entrepreneur Summit in Singapore. Dinesh Vasu Dash, Minister of State at the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the Ministry of Manpower, and Mayor of South East District, Government of Singapore, handed over the award to Md. Nurul Afser, Deputy Managing Director of Electro Mart Group.

The award recognises outstanding contribution to industry and business through the integration of sustainable practices into core business strategies, focusing on long-term value, resilience and compliance.

Electro Mart said it prioritises measuring environmental impact, promoting social responsibility and ensuring ethical governance across its operations. The company said it incorporates environmental and social awareness into governance, workforce management, product development and service delivery.

Konka and Gree electronics and home appliances began operations in Bangladesh through Electro Mart Group. The company said growing consumer demand enabled it to expand from a trading business to manufacturing. Since 2018, the group has been producing Konka, Gree and its own brand Haiko products at its factory in Narayanganj.

Through technology sharing with China, the group manufactures electronics and home appliances that it describes as eco-friendly and equipped with modern technology.

Konka produces refrigerators, freezers, LED televisions, washing machines, microwave ovens, mixer grinders, electric kettles, gas stoves, infrared cookers, pressure cookers, rice cookers and electric irons. Gree manufactures air conditioners, including ceiling, wall, cassette, VRF, ducted and chiller models, as well as portable air conditioners, air purifiers, dehumidifiers, air coolers, air circulator fans and air curtains.

Md. Nurul Afser said the recognition would strengthen the company’s sense of responsibility and motivate it to continue improving its operations. He expressed gratitude to customers and stakeholders for their support.
