50 illegal structures knocked down

Bangladesh Railway (BR) east zone in a drive yesterday demolished 50 illegal structures in Central Railway Building (CRB) Hospital area in Chittagong and freed two acres of land.

Officials conducted the drive from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

Most of the structures were built by railway staffs for additional income. Other illegal structures would be evicted gradually, said BR divisional estate officer Ishrat Reza, who led the drive.
