Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday met his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina in New York and discussed the status of bilateral relations and ways to take these forward.

This is the third meeting between the two leaders in recent months, and it came against the backdrop of settlement of the land boundary question.

After the discussion with Hasina, Modi tweeted, "Ye another productive meeting with PM Sheikh Hasina. We discussed India-Bangladesh ties. "

"After the business meeting, meeting with a neighbour and valued friend...," the Indian PMO tweeted along with a photograph of the two leaders shaking hands.

Modi visited Dhaka in June, during which the two countries exchanged the instruments of ratification of the historic Land Boundary Agreement to finally put an end to the 41-year-old border dispute.
