APBn member attempts suicide with his shotgun

An Armed Police Battalion (APBn) member attempted suicide with his shotgun following a family feud in the capital's Gulshan early yesterday.

Manjurul Alam, 24, was on duty on Saturday night at Gulshan-1 police check post with two other colleagues, a top APBn official said.

Around 2:00am he pulled his shotgun trigger putting the muzzle on his lower chin and injured himself critically, he said.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital as his condition deteriorated, he added.
