Appeal for help

Rimi Akhtar (8) is suffering from Down's  Syndrome, a genetic disorder, as well as multiple ventricular septal defect -- which means she has a number of holes between the chambers of her heart.

Her medical condition is deteriorating, to the stage where she cannot talk or even sleep. Doctors say an emergency surgery is required to give her a chance at a healthy life, but her financially insolvent father Iqram Hossain does not have the means to bear the costs, almost around Tk 2.50 lakh.

Her father has therefore urged the kind-hearted people of the country to extend their hands to save his daughter's life.
