CEITC plans to set up vision centre at every upazila
Around 70 percent of the treatment of eye diseases could be provided at upazila levels, if every upazila has developed eye care facilities, said speakers at a press conference in Chittagong city yesterday.
At the conference, Chittagong Eye Infirmary and Training Complex (CEITC) representatives announced its plan to set up a vision centre at every upazila in the country. It has already set up vision centres in Mirsharai and Satkania while Khagrachhari is going to have the third one.
Prof Rabiul Hussain, managing trustee of CEITC trust, said Orbis International, a New York based non-profit organization, is helping CEITC in the project.
Dr Munir Ahmed, country director of Orbis International, and Dr Munirujzaman Osmani, director of Institute of Community Ophthalmology of CEITC, also spoke.
