Death anniversary

Today is the first death anniversary of Mir Waliuzza-man, a former captain of Bangladesh Army, a writer, a development activist and a journalist, says a press release.

He worked for Mirzapur Cadet College, Gonoshasthaya Kendra, Care Bangladesh, Proshika, IUCN, and The Daily Star. Dole Lonthon was his autobiography work. He also translated Ernest Hemingway's Islands in the Stream, and André Gide's Strait Is the Gate into Bangla. A doa mahfil will be held today at his village in Magura.
