Explain HR director's appointment

The High Court yesterday issued a rule asking the authorities concerned of the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh to explain under what authority the human resources director has been holding her office for over a year.

The court issued the rule after hearing a writ petition filed by two icddr,b doctors challenging the legality of the appointment. Christine Dennehy was appointed on August 28, 2014, aged 59. But according to the icddr,b rules, the age limit of her post is between 18 and 58 years, said M Monjur Alam, the petitioners' lawyer.
