Fire at Karwan Bazar market under control

A fire that broke out at a wholesale banana market in Dhaka's Karwan Bazar tonight has been brought under control.

Seven firefighting units brought the blaze under control around 11:15pm, said Mahfuz Riben, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.

The fire broke out around 10:30pm. The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
