Medical college student, her sister drown in Kushtia

A medical college student and her sister drowned while bathing in their family pond at Mahiskhola village in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia yesterday afternoon.

The deceased were Sabina Akter Jhuma, 23, and Afrina Akter Jui, 16, daughters of Amzad Hossain, a bank official.

Jhuma was a second year student of Khunla Medical College while Jui a ninth-grader.

Kumarkhali police said the two did not know how to swim.
