Obituary

Farouk Chowdhury died at United Hospital in the capital on Friday.

Born on January 5, 1949 he taught in Dhaka University, McMaster University, the University of Western Ontario and Brac University and National Defence College.

He also worked in the field of development at USAID, the World Bank and The Asia Foundation.

He left behind his wife, a daughter, a son-in-law, two sons, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.

His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Gulshan Azad Mosque at 4:20pm today.
