Photo exhibition on Bangabandhu’s life and work concludes

A three-day photo exhibition on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's life and work, marking the historic 7th May, concluded at Sylhet's Shilpakala Academy on Tuesday night.

The exhibition, inaugurated on March 7, was jointly organised by Bangladesh Photo Journalist Association in Sylhet and Sylhet Zilla Shilpakala Academy. Hundreds of people visited the photo exhibition during its three-day run.

In the closing ceremony, AZ Rowshan Jabin Ruba, panel chairman of Sylhet Zilla Parishad ; Al Azad, president of Sylhet Zilla Press Club; Abdur Rashid Renu, general secretary of Sylhet Press Club; Swarnalata Ray, president of Sylhet Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry;  Bappa Ghosh Chowdhury, president of Electronics Media Journalist Association (EMJA) were present among others.

At the closing ceremony, speakers said that Bangabandhu's life and work is still extremely influential to Bangladesh's nation building process, and the next generation needs to be taught more about the legendary leader.

They said that Bangabandhu visited Sylhet many times during his lifetime. The history of those times must be collected and protected by photo journalists.Among the organisers, Ashit Baran Das Gupta, cultural officer of Sylhet and Sheikh Ashraful Alam Nasir, president of Bangladesh Photo Journalist Association in Sylhet division, also spoke during the closing ceremony.
